April

5th:  Pinwheel Table Runner (Atkinson Pattern):  Intermediate quilting making skills needed. . We will be offering a series of tablerunner pattern classes, join us! Stop in and pick up the pattern at registration. 5:30 to 8:30; $18 includes pattern

6th:  One Stroke Painting I:  1st session: WildFlowers/Birdhouse. Debbie Rice is a certified Donna Dewberry Instructor and will be offering a series of classes.  Take one or all, as various techniques are unique to the project.  See how to turn a few simple strokes into beautiful flowers, vines and many other designs. You will learn how to care for and properly load the brushes and learn to shade, blend and highlight in One Stroke(R) to create basic flowers, grasses, birdhouse, etc.    You will need:  1 roll of inexpensive paper towels; Inexpensive foam plates & wax paper or freezer paper; Over shirt or apron to protect your clothing, dress comfortably!  Your Smile! 5:30-8:30pm $25

7th:  Tatting:  Have we had requests for this! Linda will guide you thru the basic stitches in this 2 part class (concludes April 14th). Bring your shuttle if you have one, otherwise, Linda will have them available for purchase : about $5.00. She will also have thread available for practice so you can wait to buy the thread until after this class.  5:30:7:30pm $20.00

9th:  Silk Ribbon Embroidery: Silk Ribbon Embroidery adds an elegance to everything you put it on. Learn the basics with Linda while completeing 4 card sized projects. Kit fee required. Embroidery hoop, and an assortment of 8x12 fabric pieces, silk ribbon needles.  . 2 sessions, concludes April 16th. Noon :3pm $20.00

9th:  Stack & Whack Quilting:  You have no idea how the finished quilt will look! Find out how easy it is with Darlene. Bethany Reynolds book, Magic Stack:n:Whack (a $20 value) is included in price of the class. For info on choosing your fabric, visit Bethany's site if you are not familiar with the technique, or choose a fabric with large motifs (the uglier the better usually!) with at least 8 repeats. Advanced beginner. Basic quilting supplies needed, rotary mat, rotary cutter, acrylic ruler, flower pins are easier than round pins to use. Two sewing machines available on a first come first serve basis. Break for lunch (not included) Coffee and water available. Two Sessions, concludes Apr 16th. 11am:3pm $40.00
 
11th:  Let's Make a Skirt Concludes 5:30-8:30pm

12th:  Sit and ??/Free!!!  Sit and Knit, Hand Project Night or Call it What You Will, but this night is all about fun! Bring along a hand project to work on and find new friends. Several of our teachers attend and are more than willing to lend a helping hand. Snacks supplied:) 6:8pm Free

19th:  Photo Transfer Wall Hanging:  Preserve your memories while learning  the ins and out of photo transfer.  Makes a wonderful gift for anniversaries, birthdays, etc.   5:30 to 8:30pm $15 includes photo transfer paper and pattern

20th:  Wire Wrapping/Jewelry Making:  Taught by Debbie Rice.  Supplies TBA soon.  5:30-8:30pm

21st:  Mystery Block of the Month:  Closed.  5:30-7:30pm

23d:  Boxers:  Quick and easy, Boxer shorts make great gifts, sleepware and shorts.  Learn the ins and outs of applying elastic, adding side pockets as we make McCall's Pattern 8934.  10:30am-2pm $12.00

26th:  Serger Rolled Hem:  More info to follow/ 2 part class, concludes May 3d.

30th:  Foldy Stuff:  A unique method of creating quilt designs.  Join Darlene as she teaches you to make the pineapple block the fun easy way.  Pattern is included in the price of the class.  A short break for lunch is included in the time.  Refrigerator on site.  See one that first time quilter Donna made! 10am-2pm $25.00

Heart & Hands Craft & Sewing Studio is truly unique and experimental.  Not a quilt store, not a craft store, but a studio, where students and teachers come together in a relaxed atmosphere, suitable for all types of sewing, crafts & quilting classes.  Since we are a studio, registration time is limited to Tuesday & Thursdays 5-7pm and Saturday's 10am-3pm, or sign up anytime on the web using Paypal.  Remember, all kit fees are payable to the teacher at the first class and registration fees to Heart and Hands.
